Hi, I’m AJ, a web developer from Florida, USA. I built my first website in the early 2000s for a personal business project and was hooked!
A few years later, a family friend happened to be a web designer and needed a coder. So, I started learning PHP/MYSQL/ HTML/CSS/JS, and then C# a few years later. These days, I mostly work with Laravel and WordPress, building web apps and plugins.
I’ve worked on all kinds of projects over the years, but spent most of my career working for a private lab testing company.
As a young developer, I worked on the startup team at the same company to build the original DTC (Direct-to-Consumer) lab-testing platform.
I am now a fairly senior web administrator/developer. On any given day, you will find me designing and coding 3rd-party API integrations to creating responsive web experiences.
Why did I wait so long to start a developer blog, you ask?
It is something I’ve considered for years but never got around to doing.
Now the motivation comes from a few places.
Primarily because I spend most of my time solving problems that can take hours of research (Googling), testing, and trying different tools or libraries, only to go through it all again 6 months later, by then, it’s pretty much gone from memory.
Another main reason is to showcase my experience and work to future employers and project managers.
I’m not a good writer, but that will improve as I write more.
And that is enough about me 🙂
